Mini-course

Extracting information from large graphs has become an important statistical problem since network data is now common in various fields. In this minicourse we will investigate natural statistical questions in three different contexts : (i) presence of community structure, (ii) presence of geometric structure, and (iii) dynamic networks.

Outline :
  1. A primer on exact recovery in the general stochastic block model.
  2. Estimating the dimension of a random geometric graph on a high-dimensional sphere.
  3. Confidence sets for the original vertex in scale-free random graphs.
