"Meeting between topology and neuroscience" Kathryn Hess
Mini-course
Topology is a part of mathematics often call "rubber-sheet geometry". Topologists study the properties of geometrical objects, as connectivity, wich don't change with continuous transformation [...]
In particular, topology give us mathematical tools to extract global structure of a geometrical object from its local structures.
Kathryn Hess will give a small survey of the application of topology to neuroscience. She will enlight in collaboration with the "Blue Brain" project concerning the topological analysis of the structure and function of digitally rebuild microconnectomes and the topological classification of the neurons' mophology type and used in the synthesys of digital neuron models.
